ECPA is thrilled to welcome Laura Coulton as ECPA’s Dance Event Chair  

Plans are underway for a Dance Blowout in 2023!  We couldn’t, however, wait that long to share our love of all things Dance.  Join in the fun, celebrate the benefits of dance, and be part of our virtual Grapevine Challenge 2022.

WHAT: The Grapevine Challenge, a Virtual Event

WHEN: Posts begin on social media on Monday, April 18th and end on Friday, April 29th, International Dance Day.

WHY:  To shine a spotlight on all styles of dance and its many and benefits.  To highlight dancers in the western suburbs and showcase the talent and love for dance all around us.

HOW IT WORKS:

1. Choose Your Song: Either Shake Your Groove Thing OR Take It (Dom Dolla)
2. Take a video of you and your people doing exactly 4 grapevines. It can be moving together in unison, independently, changing directions, using arms, making it big or small, fast or slow. You get creative about that. It can be in obscure locations (grocery store, library, home, doctors office), in your dance studio, or out in nature. You get the idea.  Use your imagination!
3. In your caption (IG post), text box (IG story), or “what’s on your mind?” (Facebook), add DANCE TO _______ Fill in the blank with whatever feels true for you. (Ex. Dance to have fun, relieve stress, exercise, feel free, express, get exercise, reset, forget…)
4. Share your post (be sure to share across all apps.) on social media using #GrapevineChallenge
   1. Tag the Elmhurst Centre for Performing Arts on Instagram and Facebook.
   2. Tag other Studios, Dancers, Friends, and Family.
