Gayle Bisesi, a celebrated jazz singer and recording artist, has shared the stage with Patti Austin, New York Voices, and John Pizzarelli, among others. Her voice has taken her to the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), North Sea Jazz Festival (The Netherlands), Ontario Jazz Festival, and other major venues in Europe and North America. Gayle is joined by jazz vocalist Jeffrey Deutsch and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Nick Bisesi, who has performed with Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, and The Temptations.

Michael St. Peter, a favorite with Elmhurst audiences, is a recent graduate of The Juilliard School and currently trains in classical voice at Manhattan School of Music. Many will remember Michael’s rousing performances on the York stage, as well as his emotional rendition in Handel’s  Messiah. We are thrilled to welcome Michael home to Elmhurst to perform at ECPA’s Preview Reception – space is limited to only 50 guests, so make your reservation today. Directed by Molly Lindbergh, this popular male-voice ensemble is in demand all over greater Chicago. The singers come to the ensemble from all walks of life. Some hadn’t sung since college or high school before joining the group, others were attracted by the Spirito! mission of service, the high caliber of the organization, and the camaraderie that comes to life when men sing together.

ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL THEATRE AWARD FINALISTS

PrintAfter the stunning success of York Drama’s production of Les Miserables in Spring 2016, three students went on to become finalists in the prestigious Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards. Emily Landreth, Tatum Langley, and Erik Martenson will sing “A Step Too Far”  by Elton John, from the Broadway musical Aida.

 

MUSIC FROM YORK”S GRAMMY AWARD WINNING MUSIC DEPARTMENT

Since the inception of the Grammy Award for excellence in 2013, music education, York High School has been winner or finalist, designated at GOLD recipient of the National GRAMMY School Award. This year’s York Symphony Quartet features Ella Lee (violin 1), Jenna Garcia (violin 2), Leah Widmaier (viola), and Kevin Shehan (cello). The 2016-17 jazz ensemble, Gypsy Jazz, showcases the jazz stylings of  Jenny Garcia (violin), Andrew French (bass), Ben Pavlik (guitar), and Bennett Berman (guitar).
